In a time when democratic values are under siege in our country, Texas is now the battleground state where establishment Republicans and left-wing political operatives are seeking to upend the will of the people by leading a witchhunt against the righteous leadership of patriots like our Attorney General Ken Paxton, who champions conservative causes and the Constitution.
Ken Paxton, undeniably one of the most hardworking and effective attorneys general in the nation, now finds himself at the receiving end of a politically weaponized impeachment by a house run by establishment Republicans embittered by Paxton’s landslide electoral victory on November 8, 2022. In a shocking display of aggression against the will of the Texan electorate, led by the RINO Speaker of the House of Texas, Dade Phelan, the impeachment trial circus of May 27, showed us the shocking depth of the leftist swamp in Texas. Phelan’s allegedly drunk appearances seem less about preserving public trust and integrity of the institution and more about stabbing the voice of Texas in the back.
In the face of this, former President Donald Trump was quick to voice his displeasure, triggering a storm on his social media platform, Truth Social. Slamming this impeachment as “election interference,” Trump fired a salvo at Phelan and establishment Republicans conspiring to derail Paxton’s mandate. Trump highlighted the perils of a radical Left and ineffective ‘Republican-In-Name-Only’ (RINO) coalition that threatens to derail the course of our great nation.
“I will fight you,” said Trump, emphasizing his support for Paxton, whom he praised as a “hard-working” and “effective” Attorney General. A sentiment echoed by Trump’s son, Donald Trump Jr., and Senator Ted Cruz, who denounced the impeachment as a “travesty.”
“Free Ken Paxton,” Trump demanded. “Let them wait for the next election!” The call for fair play illuminates how seriously Trump is ready to protect the rights of voters and democracy itself from the onslaught of those trying to usurp it.
Cruz too took it to Twitter to voice his support for Paxton against what he believes is an unjust impeachment. “No attorney general has battled the abuses of the Biden admin more ferociously—and more effectively—than has Paxton,” Cruz tweeted. Indeed, during his tenure, Paxton was the tip of the spear in the fight against the reach of big government, and the unabated abuses of the Biden administration.
In this witchhunt against Paxton, we must interpret for what it really is – a blatant attempt to wrest power through unjust means and a gross subversion of democratic principles. It is a warning bell, and a reminder of the threats to our rights and freedoms. We must respond by rallying around the leaders we trust and have democratically elected to office, like Ken Paxton. The left and establishment Republicans would attempt to silence us. The question now is – will we let them?
